WPL Auction: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction concluded in Mumbai on Saturday and squad have been finalised for five franchise, that will be competing for WPL 2024 trophy.

At the WPL 2024 auction, 165 players went under the hammer which included 104 Indians and 61 foreign players. Although teams were allowed to select only 30 of those players. The auction was full of surprises as several experienced campaigners left untouched on the other hand, few uncapped players were picked above their base price.

Who are the top unsold players of WPL auctions?

Surprisingly, big names like Chamari Athapaththu, Deandra Dottin, and Kim Garth had no takers while uncapped players like Vrinda Dinesh and Kashvee Gautam made headlines by attracting bids over INR 1 crore.

While Karnataka batter Vrinda Dinesh joined the UP Warriorz for a whopping INR 1.3 crore, it was all-rounder Kashvee Gautam, who was the big headline of the WPL 2024 auction, commanding a premium of INR 2.00 crore from Gujarat Giants, which made her the joint-most expensive player at the auction alongside Australian international Annabel Sutherland.

Kashvee Gautam has also become the most expensive uncapped player in WPL history.

South African speedster Shabnim Ismail joined the current champions Mumbai Indians for INR 1.20 crore, and Aussie all-rounder Phoebe Litchfield, who fetched INR 1 crore from Gujarat was among the players who bagged a huge amount.
