The second season of the WPL is slated to take center stage first, with matches scheduled from February 22 to March 17. Bengaluru and Delhi will once again host the exciting tournament. The tournament is known to provide a platform for emerging stars to shine. However, the official announcement is yet to come.

Election considerations

According to the tentative schedule discussed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), IPL will be played in March. The top board stated that the exact schedule of the tournament will be announced after the conclusion of the Lok Sabha polls. The BCCI is working discreetly to ensure the tournament takes place seamlessly within the window between March 22 and May 26.

Player availability

Cricket boards worldwide have largely assured player availability until the IPL final. However, with the T20 World Cup starting on June 1, early departures of some players, particularly those involved in the World Cup, remain a possibility. For now, the BCCI's primary focus is aligning the schedule with the elections and guaranteeing a vibrant IPL season in India.
