The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced Richard Illingworth and Richard Kettleborough as the on-field umpires for the highly anticipated title match between India and Australia at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. The thrilling ICC World Cup 2023 final match is scheduled for November 19.
Joel Wilson will serve as the third umpire, match referee Andy Pycroft, and fourth umpire Chris Gaffaney for Sunday's crucial championship game. They were all on the semi-final officiating teams as well.

The final at the Narendra Modi Stadium will be a brilliant occasion, with the Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran aerobatic squad conducting an air show ahead of the match.
"This will be the second outing for Kettleborough, who also stood in the final of the 2015 Cricket World Cup. For Illingworth, too, this will be a second World Cup final appearance, albeit his first as a match official," the ICC said in an official statement.
The ICC claims that both umpires have had extremely successful careers. The David Shepherd Trophy, which goes to the ICC Umpire of the Year, has been won by both of them. From 2013 to 2015, Kettleborough emerged victorious three times in a row. It was won by Illingworth in 2019 and 2022.
