India continued its winning run in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match against the arch-rival Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

India produced a clinical performance and handed a seven-wicket defeat to Babar Azam‘s men. A gesture involving their skipper Babar and India’s Virat Kohli went viral on social media after the match. King Kohli can be seen handing a couple of signed Team India jerseys to the Pakistani skipper. However, Pakistan’s bowling great Wasim Akram wasn’t pleased with the incident.

Taking to A-Sports, the Pakistani speedster criticized Babar for getting t-shirts from Virat after the match. The visuals of Virat handing t-shirts were played repeatedly across the globe. Akram said that even if Babar needed signed t-shirts from Kohli, he should’ve asked it away from the cameras.

The former Pakistani bowler said, “That’s what I exactly said when I saw the picture [getting the shirts publicly, not privately],” Akram said. “Today was not the day to do this. If you want to do it – (agar chachi ke puttar ne keh diya hai ki t-shirt chahiye Kohli ki) if your uncle’s son has asked you to get Kohli’s shirt – then do it after the game in the dressing room”.

Babar admitted in the post-match presentation that his team was far from convincing in the match. He said, ” We wanted to play normal cricket (me and Rizwan). Suddenly we had a collapse and didn’t finish well. The way we started, wanted to target 280-290″.
