In the ongoing clash between India and Bangladesh in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Bangladesh started well adding 93 runs for the first wicket however they lost their way by losing wickets in quick succession.

Jadeja takes stunner

India fielders showed their athleticism coupled with clinical bowling performance which helped them pull things back after scalping wickets in quick succession. One of the best fielders in the world Ravindra Jadeja was at his absolute best as he grabbed a spectacular catch at the point area.

The veteran player completed a breathtaking grab diving to his right in the 43rd over at point to dismiss the set batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 38 runs off 46 deliveries. 

Umpire Marais Erasmus asks T Dilip

After taking the catch, Jadeja gestured towards India’s fielding coach T Dilip to award him a medal of the best fielder. At the end of the innings, Umpire Marais Erasmus was also seen mentioning the same to India’s fielding coach. 

Notably, the Indian team management has been awarding medals to the best fielders after the conclusion of every match in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. 

Earlier, Virat Kohli, Shardul Thakur, and KL Rahul were awarded the medal in the first three games of the multinational event.

Clinical bowling by India

Meanwhile, the veteran allrounder starred with the ball and scalped two wickets dismissing Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto. Japrit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj also scalped two wickets each.

Bangladesh finished with 256 runs on board after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs.
