Earlier, it was Sri Lankan veteran yorker king Lasith Malinga, who holds the record of scalping the fastest to 50 wickets. Former Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga had taken 50 wickets in 1187 balls.Apart from this, former fast bowler of the Kangaroo team Glenn McGrath achieved the feat of taking 50 wickets in 1540 balls. After this, Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka had shown the way to the pavilion to 50 players in 1562 balls and Wasim Akram of Pakistan had shown the way to the pavilion in 1748 balls.
