Indian skipper Rohit Sharma gives India a flier start after Bangladesh were restricted to 256/8 in ICC Cricket World Cup at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Thursday.

The Indian captain fell 2 runs short of his half-century and was dismissed in the 13th over on 48 off 40.

Fifty for Shubman

After the departure of ‘Hitman,’ the Indian star batter Virat Kohli along with Shubman Gill stitched a 44-run stand that kept India way ahead in the game of its rival. Shubman Gill completed his fifty before getting dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. He scored 53 runs off 55 deliveries including 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.

As Virat came on the crease, he got two back-to-back no balls which he scored double on the first ball and hit a boundary off the second delivery scoring 12 runs off his first three balls.

Virat takes charge

Kohli completed his 212th half-century in international cricket. This also marks his 69th ODI half-century. Kohli and Shreyas Iyer have added 46 runs for the fourth wicket. Iyer was dismissed on 19 by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

India is cruising along in the chase after the half-centuries by Shubman and Virat. India has scored 184 runs in 30 overs after losing three wickets.
