Indian star batter Shubman Gill has started practicing in nets ahead of highly anticipated India’s World Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Right-handed batter Shubman Gill arrived in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. As per the reports from ANI, the 24-year-old young sensation practiced for an hour on Thursday. However, Shubman’s participation in the upcoming high-voltage ongoing ODI World Cup clash against Pakistan on Saturday still remains uncertain.

Dengue played spoilsport

The Indian opener was under medical supervision in Chennai where he received treatment for dengue, and could not feature in India’s first two games in the ongoing multinational tournament against Australia and Afghanistan.

Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed that Shubman Gill will stay in Chennai and will not travel with the team for India’s ODI World Cup match against Afghanistan.

This year, Shubman Gill has scored 1,230 runs at an average of 72.35 and a strike rate of above 105 including five centuries and five fifties this year, with the best score of 208 against New Zealand.
