Afghanistan has posted 244 helped by the brilliant innings from Azmatullah Omarzai aginst South Africa in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Friday.

Earlier, Afghanistan's skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bat first in the 42nd game of the multinational tournament.
Azmatullah Omarzai's fighting knock helped Afghanistan finish strongly as South Africa dominated the innings majorly. He remained unbeaten on 97 as he smashed seven boundaries and three maximums.
Gerald Coetzee was the pick of bowlers from his side, claiming a four-wicket haul while Keshav Maharaj dismissed two batters for the Proteas.

Afghanistan openers gave a steady start as the batters added 41 runs for the first wicket. But it was Keshav Maharaj who eventually provided the breakthrough for Protese by Rahmanullah Gurbaz who scored 25 runs off 22 deliveries. Gerald Coetzee injected another blow by dismissing Ibrahim Zadran for 15.
