The Managing committee chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf will travel to India on Thursday to watch the highly anticipated clash of India vs Pakistan on Saturday.

The confirmation came after Pakistani media were given the green signal to submit their passports for procurement of visas to cover the multi-national event.

The PCB has confirmed the visit of Zaka Ashraf via a press release on Wednesday. Around 60 Pakistani journalists have applied for visas for the coverage of the high-voltage match.

Zaka Ashraf was expected to visit early but he postponed the visit to resolve the visa issues faced by Pakistani journalists.

He said “I have delayed my travel to India, and I am travelling tomorrow after receiving confirmation that Pakistan’s journalists have been asked to submit their passports to obtain visas to cover the mega event. I am happy that my conversation with the foreign office helped in achieving a positive development regarding the visa delay”.

Pleased with Pak players, says Zaka

Zaka expressed his happiness after the brilliant performance of the Pakistan team in the World Cup campaign so far. “I am extremely pleased with the way the players have performed so far in the World Cup, winning both matches. The PCB management committee and the entire nation stand firmly behind the players for a successful campaign in the ongoing World Cup”.

Furthermore, he said, “I am traveling to India to motivate the team, and my message to them before the India contest will be to play fearlessly as they have been playing throughout the event”.
