In the ongoing match between New Zealand and South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the Proteas posted 357/4 in 50 overs at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. South Africa's inform opener continued his brilliant innings by scoring another century in the tournament. He scored 114 runs off 116 deliveries. While his compatriot Rassie van der Dussen also smashed a hundred. He was dismissed by Tim Southee before scoring 133 runs off 118 balls.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl in the thirty-second game of the tournament. South Africa started the proceedings slowly by adding 43 runs in the first mandatory powerplay after losing the wicket of skipper Temba Bavuma, who scored 24 runs off 28 deliveries.

Hundreds by QDK and Rassie

The batting pair of Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen added 200-run for the second-wicket partnership setting the base for yet another 300-plus total for South Africa. Veteran pacer Tim Southee provided the much-needed breakthrough for the Kiwis by dismissing Quinton de Kock, who scored 114 runs off 116 deliveries including 10 boundaries and 3 maximums. This was his fourth century of the World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile,  Rassie van der Dussen claimed his second century of the ongoing tournament, scoring 133 runs in 118 deliveries including 9 boundaries and 5 maximums. Tim Southee claimed his wicket. David Miller also smashed a 30-ball half century including 2 boundaries and 4 maximums. 

Tim Southee was the pick of the bowler from New Zealand claiming a couple of wickets. Although he recorded explosive bowling figures by conceding 77 runs in 10 overs. While Trent Boult and 
James Neesham claiemd one wicket each.
