Pakistan started well chasing a mammoth target of 402, with Fakhar Zaman and skipper Babar Azam adding a century partnership to give their side a ray of hope in the high-scoring game. Meanwhile, as per the revised target Pakistan needs 182 runs in 19.3 overs to win the game to keep their semis hope alive.

Blitzing Hundred by Fakhar

Fakhar came all guns blazing in the first 20 overs of the innings, slamming seven boundaries and nine maximums and completing his century off just 63 balls.

While ace batter Babar is playing the second fiddle at the other end, Pakistan’s hope grew stronger in Bengaluru. And as rain interrupted in the 22nd over, Pakistan was remarkably 10 runs ahead on DLS. It means that if continues to rain in Bengaluru, Pakistan win will the match.

Hasan Ali injected the first by dismissing Devon Conway, who scored 35 runs off 39 deliveries. The pair Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson added 180 runs for the second wicket to set the platform for the 'Blackcaps'. Iftikhar Ahmed provided the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing New Zealand's skipper. New Zealand's score was 248/2 in 34.2 overs.

Strong finish by Kiwis

The Kiwi batters accelerated the innings, losing quickly in the process. Daryl Mitchell scored 29 runs in 18 deliveries before being dismissed by Haris Rauf. Mark Chapman was promoted in the batting order as he comes to bat in the fifth position. He scored a cameo of 39 runs and 27 deliveries. Glenn Phillips played a blitzing knock of 41 runs off just 25 deliveries helping the team's total to cross the 400-run mark.

Mohammad Wasim was the pick of the Pakistani bowlers by claiming three wickets, while Iftikhar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali scalped one wicket each.

Pakistan needed to chase the target in 35.2 overs to beat the Kiwis on net run rate (NRR) and keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
