In the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between New Zealand and Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, in Hyderabad, New Zealand posted a respectable total of 322 runs with the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.

Earlier in the day, Netherlands’ skipper Scott Edwards won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first. The Dutch batters started proceedings well by bowling a couple of maiden overs.

The Kiwi’s openers responded well adding 67 runs for the first wicket. Roelof van der Merwe broke the partnership and provided a much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Devon Conway on 32. Will Young continued with the allrounder Rachin Ravindra and added 84 runs for the second wicket before getting dismissed by Paul van Meekeren for 70 runs.

Rachin Ravindra too completed his half-century before falling to Aryan Dutt, while Daryl Mitchell scored 48 before getting dismissed by Paul van Meekeren. New Zealand’s skipper Tom Latham scored 53 runs before the innings finally concluded with Mitchell Santner producing a late blitz and his cameo remained unbeaten on 36 runs, propelling New Zealand’s total to 322.

Paul van Meekeren, Aryan Dutt, and Roelof van der Merwe added two wickets each to their accounts while allrounder Bas de Leede claimed the wicket of Glenn Phillips.
