World Cup 2023: Indian Railways will run trains from Delhi, Mumbai to Ahmedabad

The Indian Railways has announced that special trains will depart from Delhi and Mumbai on Sunday to accommodate fans travelling to Ahmedabad to see the ICC World Cup 2023 final match.

Cricket fans who were facing outrageous airfares of ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 would find some comfort from the railways' initiative. 

The Indian Railways stated that the rates of the seats range from ₹620 for a sleeper seat to ₹3,490 for a first AC seat, guaranteeing a significantly reduced fare. The costs of the 3AC economy and 3AC seats are ₹1,525 and ₹1,665, in that order.

On Saturday, reservations for the special trains were available via the IRCTC website, www.irctc.co.in.

The trains will leave on Saturday evening and arrive in Ahmedabad on Sunday morning. There will be one train from Delhi and three from Mumbai, according to the railways.

The world's largest cricket stadium will host the World Cup final, and the BCCI announced a complete schedule of events and personalities that would be attending on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presence during the final on Sunday. 

The Indian Air Force's spectacular air show, two former World Cup winning captains, Kapil and Dhoni, will be watching from the stands, and the large number of celebrities and politicians in attendance—all of this will be unparalleled.

This will undoubtedly be an Evening to Remember, but whether captain Sharma and his team can turn it into a Evening to Celebrate remains to be seen.
