The Indian team won the toss and decided to bat in the high-volume India vs Pakistan match in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The Pakistani opening pair of Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq have started well in the powerplay adding 41 runs in the powerplay. Mohammed Siraj provided the much-needed breakthrough for India dismissing the dangerous-looking partnership as Abdullah Shafique tried to play the flick shot and missed the ball completely, the ball hit him on the pad in front of the off stump.

The Pakistani batter didn’t review knowing that the ball would hit the sticks. Although Siraj has been expensive in the powerlpay leaking 26 runs in 4 overs.

Shubman Gill returns

Indian young sensation Shubman Gill is back in the squad replacing left-handed Ishan Kishan while Pakistan didn’t make any changes in the playing XI.
