In the ongoing twelfth game between India and Pakistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup, the Indian pacers have sent the pair of Pakistani openers back into the pavilion striking early in the game at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The Pakistani opening pair of Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq have started well in the powerplay adding 41 runs in the powerplay.

Miyan magic in Ahmedabad

Mohammed Siraj provided the much-needed breakthrough in powerplay after dismissing the dangerous-looking partnership as Abdullah Shafique tried to play the flick shot and missed the ball completely, the ball hit him on the pad in front of the off stump in eight overs of the game.

The Pakistani batter didn’t review knowing that the ball would hit the sticks. Although Siraj has been expensive in the powerlpay leaking 26 runs in 4 overs.

Imam-ul-Haque falls

After the first wicket, Imam-ul-Haque and Babar Azam added 32 runs for the second wicket before allrounder Hardik Pandya dismissed Imam-ul-Haque, who chased a wide delivery and nicked it straight to wicketkeeper KL Rahul reducing Pakistan’s total to 73 on the loss of two wickets in 12.3 overs.

Shubman Gill returns

Indian young sensation Shubman Gill is back in the squad replacing left-handed Ishan Kishan while Pakistan didn’t make any changes in the playing XI.
