India skipper Rohit Sharma completed 300 sixes in the One Day International format in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup on Saturday.

Rohit achieved this milestone after hammering Pakistan’s speedster Haris Rauf for a huge six in a game against arch-rival Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The ‘Hitman’ scored 86 runs in just 63 deliveries including 6 boundaries and 6 maximum.

Rohit created the record by featuring in just 254 matches in the ODI format.

Who has hit highest number of sixes in ODI?

The former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi leads the table with 351 sixes in 308 games, while legendary West Indies batter Chris Gayle smashed 331 sixes in 301 encounters.

Notably, Rohit Sharma surpassed Chris Gayle with 554 maximums to become the player with the most sixes in international cricket. He achieved this feat in India’s match against Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Indian bowlers completely shattered Pakistan’s batting lineup at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Indian bowling lineup of Bumrah, Siraj, Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja secured two wickets each to bundle out the rival team for a mere 191 runs in just 42.5 overs.

Captain Babar Azam was the top scorer for Pakistan scroing 50 runs off 58 deliveries while Mohammad Rizwan scored 49.
