Bangladesh has started well in the ongoing encounter against India at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

The opening pair of Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das has added 93 runs partnership off 88 deliveries for the first wicket in the 17th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Bangladeshi batters started the proceedings aggressively and scored 63 runs in the first powerplay making the batting look easy. While Indian bowlers struggle to produce chances to scalp wickets on the batter-friendly pitch.

Fifty for Bangladesh’s opners

Both the openers scored half-centuries after the blitzing start. Indian dependable bowler Kuldeep Yadav provided the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Tanzid Hasan, who scored 51 runs off just 43 deliveries including 5 boundaries and 3 maximums.

Litton Das also completed his half-centuries and got out to Ravindra Jadeja after playing an impressive knock of 66 runs. He smashed 7 boundaries during his short stay.

Mini collapse in top order

The dismissal of Tanzid Hasan caused a mini-collapse in the top order as the skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz fell cheaply. Ravindra Jadeja claimed the wicket of a Bangladeshi skipper while Mohammed Siraj scalped Mehidy Hasan Miraz who scored 8 and 3 runs respectively. Bangladesh has managed to post 165 runs after losing four wickets in 35 overs. Towhid Hridoy(12*) and Mushfiqur Rahim(21*) are on the ground to tackle the Indian challange.
