Continuing the dominant performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, 'Men in Blue' thrashed South Africa by 243 runs at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In the 37th encounter of the ongoing tournament, India posted 326 runs after winning the toss. While chasing a big target of 327, the South African batting lineup fell like a deck of cards. India bundled out the Protese on 83 in 27 overs. 

South Africa proves 'Chokers' tag right

South Africa looked to prove the 'Chokers' tag right as it collapsed measurably and India remains unbeaten in the tournament. Mohammed Siraj strikes in his first over of the spell by removing the dangerous in-form batter Quinton de Kock, who scored just 5 runs. The dismissal of QDK triggered the collapse leading India's one of the biggest wins against the Protese.  
 
None of the batters succeded to score even 15 runs mark as Marco Jansen was the top scorer of the South African innings, who scored 14 runs.  

Jadeja runs riot at Eden Garden

Ravindra Jadeja laid the Indian bowling attack by claiming a five-wicket haul followed by Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav, who claimed 2 wickets each. While, Mohammed Siraj calimed one.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma gave a brisk start to India which was carried forward by Virat Kohli's brilliant hundred. While Shreyas Iyer's hammered a half-century. 

Virat-Shreyas sets up the tone

After losing both the openers Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer batted with grit and determination to put on a century stand and scored their respective half-centuries. The stand finally came to an end on 134 runs off 158 deliveries when Iyer was dismissed by Lungi Ngidi. He scored 77 runs off 87 deliveries. They informed batter KL Rahul fell soon thereafter after scoring just 8 runs.

'King Kohli' gave the birthday gift to his fans by leveling up Sachin Tendulkar's all-time record of 49 hundred. The 35-year-old put up yet another monumental innings in challenging conditions on his 35th birthday.

Controlled bowling from the Protese led by the spinners ensured that India added just 51 runs in the first 15 overs of the second Powerplay.

Suryakumar Yadav failed to fire again as he was dismissed for 22  in order to score quick runs. Ravindra Jadeja also played a handy innings at the end of the innings. He scored 29 runs off just 15 deliveries.
