India is cruising ahead toward a big total against South Africa in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer hammered respective half-centuriees. 

In the 37th game of the tournament, India won the toss and decided to bat first at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. India's skipper Rohit Sharma gave a brisk start before being dismissed by Kagiso Rabada. He scored 40 runs off 24 deliveries, including 6 boundaries and one maximum. While Shubman Gill failed to convert his innings and was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj. He scored 23 runs in 24 deliveries 4 boundaries one maximum. 

India on 'Top'

Continuing the proceedings, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored their respective half-centuries. Virat is batting on 70* runs off 78 deliveries while Shreyas Iyer is batting on 70* runs off 79 deliveries. India has scored 219/2 in 35 overs.

Indian cricket fans are expecting that the birthday boy, Virat Kohli will score his 48th century.
