Team India's young sensation Shubman Gill tumbled several records during his brief innings against New Zealand in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 etched his name in history on Sunday. He scored 26 runs off 31 deliveries including including five boundaries at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

The 24-year-old stylish right-handed batter etched his name in history as he became the fastest batter to complete 2,000 runs in ODIs by surpassing South Africa legendary batter Hashim Amla, who completed 2,000 ODI runs in 40 innings while Gill took just 38 innings to reach the mark.

This year, the young Indian batter is in remarkable form, leading the table of top run scorers in the 50-over format with more than 1,300 runs. No other batsmen have surpassed even the 1,000-run mark in the ODI format in 2023.
