'Hitman' tumbled several records during his short stay at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as reached the mark in his 27th World Cup innings with a maximum off New Zeland's speedster Trent Boult in the fifth over of the match, going past Chris Gayle’s tally of 49 maximums. Glenn Maxwell stands in third position with 43 sixes while Mr.360 AB de Villiers has smashed 37 sixes and David Warner has hammered the same, rounding off the top-five list of six-hitters in the World Cup.

Rohit Sharma also surpassed Chris Gayle to became the first batter to hit 'Most sixes in a single World Cup edition'. Rohit has smashed 27 sixes while Chris Gayle has 26 maximums added to his name.
