World Cup 2023, IND vs AUS: India is bundled out for 240 runs in 50 overs against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 finals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The five-time champions bowled brilliantly, scalping two wickets in the powerplay, despite a fiery knock from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

As it happened in Ahmedabad

'Men in Blue' started the innings aggressively adding 30 runs in the first four over. Mitchell Starc injected the first blow by dismissing Shubman Gill in the second ball of his third over.

While Rohit Sharma continued his attack and scored 47 runs off 31 deliveries before getting dismissed by Glenn Maxwell. He scored four boundaries off three maximums. India continued to score runs at a brisk pace and added 80 runs in the first powerplay.

The pair of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul added 67 runs off 109 deliveries. However, Kohli chopped on as the Cummins' ball took a faint edge to disturb the stumps reducing the team's total to 148/4 in 28.3 overs.

Another milestone for Kohli

Virat Kohli became the fourth Indian batter to score a half-century in an ICC Cricket World Cup final. The Indian stalwart batter reached his half-century off 56 balls to register his fifth consecutive score above 50 and ninth of the World Cup 2023.

After Kohli's departure, KL Rahul was the only batter who showed up to the fight and scored 66 runs off 107 deliveries. Suryakumar Yadav continued his disappointing campaign in the tournament as he was dismissed for 18.

Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers from Australia, who scalped three wickets while Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins scalped two wickets each.

India will be hoping to fire up the pace attack led by Mohammed Shami.
