Early success for India

Brilliant centuary by Travis Head

It looked like India had the upper hand in the game, but a superb partnership between Head and Marnus Labuschagne took the game away from India. Travis Head smashing a stunning century, and Labuschagne playing the foil at the other end, does the rest to ensure the win.

Head couldn't finish the game as he was caught in the deep with just one run needed to win the game and received a standing ovation from the teammates. He scored 137 runs off 120 deliveries, departing to a standing ovation from his teammates. Glenn Maxwell scored the winning runs as Australia claimed victory with six wickets and seven overs to spare.

Earlier in the innings, Australian bowling attack combined to turn the screw after a fast-paced powerplay where India hammered 80 runs despite losing a couple of wickets. The Australian pacer, led by Mitchell Starc, bowled India out for 240.
