World Cup 2023: Hardik Pandya ruled out of the tournament, replaced by Prasidh Krishna

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ongoing World Cup. Prasidh Krishna has been included in the team in his place.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ongoing World Cup. In his place, Prasidh Krishna has been added to the squad which has been confirmed by the ICC. On October 19, during the Pune match against Bangladesh, Hardik injured his ankle. Since then, he hasn't engaged in any gameplay. He competed in four World Cups.

In the match against Bangladesh, in the ninth and his first over, Hardik was hurt. Hardik sat on the crease after twisting his ankle on the third ball. After noticing the damage, the medical staff removed him from the field. Virat Kohli came in to bat instead of Hardik Pandya. 

Hardik Pandya ruled out of tournament
 

Following an injury against Bangladesh, Pandya did not travel with the squad from Pune for the October 22 match against New Zealand in Dharamsala. He was relocated from Pune to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, currently undergoing treatment at the NCA.

For the first time, Prasidh Krishna has been added to the World Cup team. Prasidh was training at the National Cricket Academy when he was asked to be ready as a backup. After receiving approval from the tournament's event technical committee on Saturday, he was added to the Indian squad.
