After Australia's win over India in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad on November 19, Glenn Maxwell's wife Vini Raman has hit out at trolls for supporting Australia, despite having Indian roots. 

Vini Raman's strong message to trolls

Vini Raman has taken to the social media platform, Instagram where she posted several images of Maxwell, including a message for trolls at the end.

The caption reads, "Melbourne - Singapore - Delhi - Dharamsala - Ahmedabad - Mumbai - Pune - Kolkata -Ahmedabad - Singapore - Melbourne."

Furthermore, it added, "a trip of a lifetime that Logan won’t remember. @gmaxi_32 still in awe of everything you’ve accomplished this tournament (are you even real?) PS. Swipe to the last slide for a little PSA."

However, Raman lashed out at trolls after numerous people criticised her for supporting Australia despite having roots in India. The last slide reads, "Cue all the hateful vile DMs. Stay classy."

Furthermore, Raman said in an Instagram post."Can't believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you have been raised and more importantly the team your husband + father of your plays in #nobrainer. Take a chill pill and direct the outrage towards more important world issues."

Vini Raman's Indian connection

Notably, Vini Raman belongs to a Tamil Brahmin family, who migrated to Australia from India. Her parents are Venkat and Vijyalaxmi Raman, and she has an elder sister named Madhu. 

Brilliant Australia lifts World Cup 

Earlier, India posted 240 runs after Australia's brilliant bowling display. In pursuit of 241 runs target, Australia was initially shaky, as India claimed three wickets at the score of 47. However, Travis Head's blazing hundred and Marnus Labuschagne's gritty 58* sealed the World Cup title for the Kangaroos  

Maxwell creates history

Australian allrounder Maxwell also had a great campaign as he smashed the fastest hundred and double hundred in World Cup history. The 35-year-old ended the World Cup campaign with 400 runs to his account including six wickets.
