Afghanistan continues the dream run in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a thumping win against Sri Lanka at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Monday. Brilliant half-centuries from Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, and Azmatullah Omarzai helped Afghanistan in securing a smooth 7-wicket victory against the Sri Lankan team.

Earlier in the game, Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. Sri Lanka was bundled out for 241 in 49.3 overs with Fazalhaq Farooqi claiming a 4-wicket haul in his name. Afghanistan chased down the target of 242 runs with 28 balls to spare.
