Sports News: India secured their first win in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, defeating Pakistan by six wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 6. After a tough loss to New Zealand in their opening game, Harmanpreet Kaur and her team made a strong comeback, improving their net run rate to -1.22.

Pakistan struggled to gain momentum after opting to bat first, managing 105 for eight wickets. Renuka Singh Thakur provided India with an ideal start by dismissing Gull Feroza for a duck. Pakistan's key players Sidra Amin and Omaima Sohail failed to contribute much, with Deepti Sharma and Arundhati Reddy taking crucial wickets.

Muneeba Ali Siddiqui tried to anchor Pakistan’s innings but was dismissed for 17 by Shreyanka Patil. Nida Dar contributed with a 28-run knock, but Pakistan found themselves at 41 for four at the halfway mark. Reddy was India's standout bowler with three wickets, while Shreyanka and others kept Pakistan under pressure.
