Rahul Dravid's tenure as India's head coach concluded on a high note with the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph under Rohit Sharma's captaincy. Despite speculation about his reapplication for the position, Dravid opted not to continue, leaving fans and experts curious about the reasons behind his decision. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah shed light on Dravid's decision, emphasizing that it was driven by personal commitments rather than professional inclination.

"He told me that due to family commitments he wants to quit, and we respect his decision," Shah explained during a press briefing in Barbados. He further clarified that the board did not press Dravid to extend his tenure.
