As the frenzy around the upcoming IPL season intensifies, teams and players are gearing up for the highly anticipated tournament. Mumbai Indians' swashbuckling opener Ishan Kishan recently grabbed headlines, not necessarily for his explosive batting, but for his playful antics during a recent practice session. 

Kishan, who is known for his lightheartedness on the field, has previously shared moments of playfulness with teammates like Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma. This time, his target was none other than the team's bowling coach, the legendary speedster Lasith Malinga. 

The video has gone viral, where Kishan is playfully imitating Malinga's unique bowling action. The clip depicts Kishan wearing a blue-colored wig, which looks similar to Malinga's distinctive curly hair. Then, he started to mimic Malinga's bowling style with the characteristic slinging arm action. This lighthearted moment sent the other players and the coaching staff present on the field into laughter, including Kishan himself.

Malinga joins the fun

The bonhomie didn't end there. The official Mumbai Indians social media handle shared the video. The clip also features Malinga joining Kishan on the field, with both of them bowling in tandem, mimicking each other's styles. 

Comeback after setback?

This lighthearted moment comes amidst Kishan's recent omission from the BCCI's central contract list. Notably, he hasn't featured in any competitive matches since December 2023 due to a requested break citing mental fatigue. However, with the IPL season approaching, Kishan's return to the field and his seemingly high spirits suggest he's gearing up to make a strong comeback in the upcoming tournament.
