The US security department is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the T20 World Cup remains hassle-free. The security team is working hard to ensure that the tournament remains uninterrupted without any such disturbances that could be problematic. The New York Police Department is keeping a keen eye on all the developments under their surveillance to ensure that the movement of the fans or outside interferences does not hinder the matches, causing trouble to players.

One such video, showing the top-notch security arrangements of the security department has surfaced and the one who is guarded, is the global sports star,  Virat Kohli whose popularity has crossed all borders.

Kohli arrived in the USA on Friday for the T20 World Cup ahead of its opening match against Ireland on Wednesday. In the video that has gone viral, Virat was seen being guarded strongly. He was seen walking to join his teammates with a bat in his hand and surrounded by around 6 security personnel. A couple of guards, riding on horseback, were also spotted, protecting the players from any miscreant or external obstructions in the form of an intruding fan or anything else.

Stringent security arrangements

This further highlights the stringent security arrangements that the department has made, indicating how important Virat is for the World Cup. Though they have not deployed any special security to Kohli, no other Indian player was guarded so well. Since landing in the state, other players including Suryakumar Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Shivam Dube have also roamed around NYC and visited the world-famous Times Square but they did not receive any such protective cover or guarding.

Known for its spontaneousness in dealing with adverse situations, USA security has always maintained a 'no-nonsense attitude' while dealing with any inappropriate fan activity. In the India vs Bangladesh warm-up match, the security guards were seen taking down the invading fan who had forcefully entered the field and hugged Rohit Sharma. Two of the police officers tackled him onto the ground and took him away from Rohit even when he urged them to take it easy on him.

Virat expresses his feelings on playing T20 on USA's ground

Virat Kohli has mentioned that the T20 World Cup, being played on the American ground, is in itself a big boost for the sport in the country that thrives on NFL, NBA and Baseball as its favourite sports. He said that he never expected that he would be representing India in this state something that he had not imagined before.

"Honestly, I never thought we would be playing cricket in any form in the States. But now it's a reality. And that tells you about the growing impact of the sport in the world and the United States is more than willing to accept the change and be probably the first one on a global scale to accept it, in a way, with the World Cup," Kohli recently said in a video message.
