In the IPL encounter against SunRisers Hyderabad, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, key players of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, formed a decisive partnership of 172 runs for the opening wicket, ultimately leading to their team’s victory.

Kohli achieved a significant milestone by scoring his sixth century in the history of the IPL, while Du Plessis notched up his eighth half-century in the ongoing IPL 2023. In a dominant display, RCB comfortably defeated SRH by eight wickets, propelling them to the fourth position in the points table and bolstering their chances of reaching the playoffs.

Following the match, RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell praised the strategic prowess of Kohli and Du Plessis, acknowledging their ability to choose the right moments and opponents to launch their attacks. Maxwell also mentioned his preparations for RCB’s upcoming final league match against the defending champions, the Gujarat Titans.

Maxwell praised the batting expertise of Kohli and Du Plessis, highlighting their ability to assess the game situation and execute their plans effectively. He mentioned how they capitalised on the varying conditions, such as the uneven turn of the left-arm spin from one end. Maxwell also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming match against the current table toppers, emphasising the opportunity to face them at home.

Regarding individual performances, Du Plessis maintained his position as the highest run-scorer in IPL 2023, holding onto the Orange Cap with an impressive tally of 702 runs in 13 matches. Kohli, with 538 runs in 13 games, climbed to the fourth spot among the leading run-getters.
