India’s leading pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, has been rested for the second clash against Australia in a three-match ODI series. The highly anticipated game will be played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday. Pacer Mukesh Kumar has been called as his replacement.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared a post on microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The caption reads,”Mr Jasprit Bumrah did not travel with the team to Indore for the 2nd ODI against Australia.

He has gone to visit his family and given a short break by the team management. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has joined the team as Bumrah’s replacement for the 2nd ODI. Bumrah will join the team for the final ODI in Rajkot”.

Thumping win over Australia

Jasprit Bumrah scalped one for 43 in the first ODI in Mohali and according to his reputation, he started off his spell with two maiden overs and helped India clinch a thumping five-wicket victory over Australia. Indian right-handed pacer Mohammed Shami sclped a five-wicket haul and won the ‘Man of Match’.

The third ODI will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot, on Wednesday, September 27.
