T20 World Cup 2024: Nepal and Oman qualify for ICC's top event

Nepal and Oman are set to make an appearance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after winning their respective semi-final matches in the Asia region qualifiers, held in Nepal on Friday.

The host won the match against United Arab Emirates by eight wickets in the semifinal while Oman convincingly defeated Bahrain by 10 wickets.

Maiden appearance of Nepal and Oman

Nepal will be making its maiden World Cup appearance in the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States of America and the West Indies in 2024. It is the first time Oman as well, will be featuring in the tournament. 

The upcoming edition of the T-20 World Cup is all set to host 20 teams for the first time in the history of cricket. The teams will be divided into four groups, each group will have five teams. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Eight.

For the ICC's top event, 18 teams have qualified so far. The last two positions will be decided from the Africa Qualifiers, which will be held from November 22 to 30 in Namibia.
