T20 World Cup 2024: As the T20 World Cup 2024 is round the corner, the highly anticipated schedule of the tournament has been revealed, and cricket's fiercest rivalry takes centre stage with an electrifying India vs Pakistan encounter in New York City on June 9, as per the reports. India's journey for the second T20 World Cup title will begin four days earlier, on June 5, where they will face Ireland in New York. Although, the Irish side is not among the favourites but they possess the capability to upset big bulls like India. 

Clash of Titans 

But all eyes will be glued to the live wire game on June 9 clash, which will be played between India and Pakistan. Following the Pakistan encounter, India will face the host nation USA on June 12 in New York before wrapping up their group stage against Canada on June 15 in Florida. These matches will be crucial for India to secure a top spot in their group which will give a ticket to the Super 8 stage.

Super 8s and beyond

If Rohit's men manage to reach their Super 8 journey, which will commence on June 20 in Barbados, with all subsequent matches expected to be played in the West Indies. The island nation will then potentially host the grand finale on June 29.

Rohit and Kohli eager to take field

Indian cricket superstars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are reportedly eager to play their part in the T20 World Cup, having been absent from the shortest format since November 2022. The inclusion of the regulars in the squad would undoubtedly strengthen India's batting unit.

Eyes on IPL for Selection

However, keeping the T20 World Cup in mind, the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season will serve as a crucial audition ground for young players hoping to secure a spot in the national squad. The Indian management confirmed that thirty players will be closely monitored throughout the IPL.
