The Super Giants' chase never took off in response. While Wiaan Mulder offered some resistance with a quickfire 38, the Sunrisers bowling attack proved too strong. Marco Jansen was the wrecker-in-chief, claiming a five-wicket haul, including crucial dismissals of Jon-Jon Smuts and Bhanuka Rajapaksa early on. Ottniel Baartman also played a key role, dismissing the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen's first ball and finishing with 2/17.

With their bowlers stifling any fightback, the Sunrisers wrapped up the Super Giants' innings for a paltry 115 in 17 overs, completing a comprehensive victory and securing their second consecutive SA20 title.
After clinching the title, Markram said, "Yeah great feeling. To be in the final is a proud moment for us as a team. For the guys to rock up here tonight and play the game they did is a testament to how hard they've been working. Competition is tough. Anyone can beat anyone. Bowlers have been the shining light and carried us throughout. Massive team effort, massive squad effort, even the guys who didn't play a game played a massive role. Great group of guys that are fully interested in the best interests of the team. Can't ask for more after that, can sleep well at night."
On the other hand, losing captain Keshav Maharaj said, "Disappointed with the result, but credit to the Sunrisers. They played excellent cricket throughout the tournament."
