With this feat, he not only completed 11,000 runs in ODI cricket but also surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in reaching this landmark faster. Moreover, he joins an exclusive club alongside Virat Kohli.

Rohit sharma crosses 11,000 ODI runs

Rohit Sharma has now become the fourth Indian cricketer to cross the 11,000-run mark in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He joins the esteemed ranks of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly. Rohit achieved this milestone in the fourth over of the match against Bangladesh, smashing a boundary off Mustafizur Rahman. Despite the ball striking the inner part of his bat, its sheer force carried it across the boundary, marking his entry into the 11,000-run club.

Second-fastest to reach 11,000 ODI runs

The Indian captain reached this milestone in just 261 innings, making him the second-fastest batsman to achieve this feat. The only player ahead of him is Virat Kohli, who accomplished the same in just 222 innings. Rohit’s remarkable consistency and aggressive style have cemented his place among the greatest ODI batsmen.

Surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record

What makes this accomplishment even more special is that Rohit Sharma outpaced the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. While Tendulkar took 276 innings to reach 11,000 ODI runs, Rohit achieved it in just 261 innings, showcasing his dominance in modern-day cricket.

The only player with three double centuries

Before achieving this milestone, Rohit Sharma was already known for his record-breaking performances. He remains the only batsman in cricket history to have scored three double centuries in ODIs, a testament to his incredible batting prowess and ability to dominate opposition bowlers.
