After a break for 11 months, Jasprit Bumrah is back in the field of Cricket. He had his first comeback match against Ireland in the T20 series which made all the fans excited. However, head coach Rahul Dravid said that Bumrah will be slowly eased into full action as preparations will be needed to compete well in the Asia Cup.

The ace pacer who once spearheaded the bowling team of India had received a lower back injury and was going through subsequent rehabilitation which made him stay out of action for almost a year. During his comeback match against Ireland, Jasprit gave a very impressive performance and could easily be considered that he was the best bowler in the match.

As the head coach Rahul Dravid considers Jasprit Bumrah’s participation in matches to be slowly done. He said in an interview “It’s great to have them (Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna) back and see them bowling well. Jasprit is someone we have missed a lot in the past two years he hasn’t played much. We will ease him into it slowly. Ireland was a good opportunity to ease him in. Now we have a whole month to build that up before the World Cup. The duo’s return gives us more options in the pace bowling department,” he said.

Even former west indies cricketer Curtly Ambrose was delighted about Bumrah’s return and took to twitter to express his excitement.

Another pacer, apart from Jasprit returns on field.

Apart from this another cricketer Prasidh Krishna, is now back in the team after a long injury. Former Indian cricketer Sab Karim said in an interview that Rohit Sharma will now have more options for pacers as a batsman during the upcoming tournaments.

“With Prasidh Krishna getting fit, it really opens up a number of possibilities for Rohit Sharma but also adds to the striking force of the Indian pace bowling contingent,” the 55-year-old added. Karim further added that the Indian team at the moment has two excellent pacers, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, and the 27-year-old Prasidh Krishna as their backups.

India will take on Pakistan in their first match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Saturday (September 2nd) and the match will take place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.
