After record-breaking results in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Indian contingent is aiming for a double-digit medal tally at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. Over 70 athletes, including the men’s hockey team, have already secured their spots, positioning India to potentially send its largest-ever contingent to the Summer Olympics, which commence on July 26. Top medal hopefuls include Neeraj Chopra, Nikhat Zareen, and the badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
The Tokyo Olympics marked a historic moment for India, with the nation sending its largest-ever contingent of 124 athletes and achieving its biggest medal haul in a single edition, with seven medals.
Reigning Olympic javelin throw champion Neeraj Chopra will be looking to defend his title at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Chopra secured his spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the men's final at the World Championships with a single impressive throw of 88.77m.

Amit Panghal secured his spot for the Paris Games on June 2, 2024, becoming the latest Indian boxer to do so. Amit earned this distinction by defeating China's Chuang Liu with a 5-0 victory in the quarterfinals of the second World Qualifiers, making him the fifth Indian boxer to qualify. Earlier, on May 31, young wrestler Nishant Dev was the first male boxer from India to secure a qualification in the 71kg category for the Paris Games.
