In less than an hour, the first lot of tickets for India’s ODI World Cup matches against Pakistan have been completely booked. The match tickets for India’s World Cup matches became available on ICC’s ticketing partner, ‘BookMyShow’ website, on August 29th at exactly 6 PM. All eyes were on the India vs Pakistan match, but fans were disappointed when tickets sold out in mere minutes.

Criticism poured in on social media as fans were left waiting in virtual lines for over 6 hours due to poor service by the ticketing partner. BookMyShow’s website crashed shortly after the ticket sale started, causing eager fans to accumulate in virtual queues. As time passed, the queue waiting time increased rapidly.

After only about 5 minutes of waiting, fans were told to remain patient for over 6 hours in the queue by BookMyShow’s website. Despite waiting for 2 hours, the website eventually announced that tickets were sold out.
Although, the exact number of tickets available during the pre-sale period for all India matches and warm-up games remains unknown.
