Sport News: Former England star Kevin Pietersen slams Jos Buttler and Co. for their lack of practice and poor performance during their tour of India, which ended in a 3-0 ODI series whitewash. Pietersen accuses the team of disrespecting Indian conditions and prioritizing leisure over preparation, questioning their commitment to winning.

Horrific Tour Ends in Humiliation

England's tour of India concluded with a crushing 142-run defeat in Ahmedabad, resulting in a 3-0 clean sweep in the ODI series for the hosts. This followed India's earlier triumph in the T20I series, compounding England's woes. The dismal performance has sparked heavy criticism, with former England star Kevin Pietersen leading the charge.

Pietersen's Scathing Criticism

Pietersen did not hold back in his assessment of England's performance, accusing the team of a lack of preparation and a disrespectful attitude towards the tour. He revealed that the team had only one practice session since the first game and that only Joe Root had been actively practicing. "Sorry, but you cannot come to the sub-continent, keep on making the same mistake and then not practice," Pietersen stated.

Prioritizing Leisure Over Practice

Pietersen expressed his frustration at the team's apparent prioritization of leisure activities over honing their skills. "I get it. Enjoy yourselves. These are the best time of your life. Play golf. Go out, eat in a beautiful restaurant. But you get paid to score runs," he said. He emphasized that the players are paid to win games and should dedicate themselves to practicing and preparing for matches.

Disrespecting Indian Conditions

Pietersen was "gutted" to witness what he perceived as a lack of respect for Indian conditions and the Indian team. He argued that the players had not given their all to win games for England and that they could not honestly say they had done everything possible to prepare.

India's Dominance

India's dominant performance throughout the tour highlighted the stark contrast in preparation and execution between the two sides. India sealed the ODI series with a 142-run thrashing in the third ODI in Ahmedabad1. Shubman Gill was named Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
