Mohsin Khan's injury: A big setback for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025 !

Lucknow Super Giants have been dealt a big blow at the beginning of IPL 2025, as a crucial player of the team has been out for the entire season on account of injury. In such a scenario, Lucknow has also made known the replacement of the player. To begin with IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants have had to undergo a big shift in the team. Actually, Lucknow's top fast bowler Mohsin Khan has been excluded from IPL 2025 on injury grounds. Lucknow, as a result of Mohsin Khan's injury, has now made up its mind to include one new player in the team. The BCCI has granted its approval to this replacement.

Mohsin Khan's knee injury

Mohsin Khan sustained a serious injury in his knee ligament because of which he was unable to take part in any cricket game during the last three months. Other than that, he strained his calf as well while bowling at the camp of Lucknow Super Giants due to which he had to stay out of action during the season of IPL 2025. Lucknow, in the place of Mohsin, have roped in veteran all-rounder Shardul Thakur of Mumbai Indians who went unsold in the auction.

Shardul Thakur takes the place of Mohsin Khan

Lucknow Super Giants have signed Shardul Thakur from the registered available player pool in place of Mohsin Khan, as per a press release by the BCCI. Thakur has been picked at a reserve price of Rs 2 crore. Shardul Thakur has played well in all three formats for India and also has experience of 95 matches in IPL.

Big chance for Shardul Thakur

This is a great chance for Shardul Thakur since he could not get any buyers during the IPL 2025 mega auction. But the chances of his coming to the Lucknow team were already being mentioned. Currently, Lucknow has two more bowlers Mayank Yadav and Akash Deep at risk of being out of the season. Both of these players are currently in the Center of Excellence.
