Miracle happened for the fourth time in the history of cricket, Team India became the third team in the world to do so

Sports News. Teams to win consecutive ICC men's Trophy: Team India created history on 9 March under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Team India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the title match and captured the Champions Trophy after 12 years. The Indian team won the Champions Trophy for the third time and became the team with the most number of Champions Trophy wins. Captain Rohit Sharma played a big hand in this title win. Batting brilliantly, he scored 76 runs in 83 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes and won the Player of the Match award.

Under Rohit's captaincy, Team India captured the ICC trophy for the second consecutive year and created a new record. Rohit did the miracle as a captain which even Mahendra Singh Dhoni could not do under his captaincy. In fact, in the year 2024, under Rohit's captaincy, the Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title and now won the Champions Trophy. In this way, Rohit Sharma became the first Indian captain to win 2 ICC titles in two consecutive years. 

Team India's name is recorded in golden letters 

This is the fourth time in the history of cricket that a team has won two consecutive ICC Men's Trophies. Team India is the third team in the world to do so. Before Team India, only the West Indies and Australia teams were able to achieve this feat. West Indies won two consecutive ICC ODI World Cup titles in 1975 and 1979, while Australia won the Champions Trophy in 2006 and then the 2007 World Cup the next year.

Australia is the only team to do this twice

Australia won 2 consecutive ICC trophies in the year 2023. The Australian team won the ICC World Cup 2023 title after winning the World Test Championship i.e. WTC 2023 under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. It is worth noting here that Australia defeated India in the finals of both the tournaments.
