Cricket great Virat Kohli has sent ripples regarding what is to come next in the future, such as retirement rumors, the future of cricket at the Olympics, and changing women's cricket in India. He spoke during a session at the RCB Innovation Lab prior to the IPL 2025 season.

To what awaits the post-professional cricket life, Kohli conceded that he has not planned anything specific. "Honestly speaking, I have no idea what I am going to do after retirement. I asked someone else the other day the same question, and received the same reply. But then, maybe I will just go around and roam a lot," Kohli disclosed.

Doubts over future Australian tours

The ex-Indian skipper also talked about his recent Australian tour, ominously hinting that perhaps he has not too many more Australian tours left to deliver.
"I might not have the second chance of touring Australia and hence I am satisfied with whatever I have done so far there," he clarified.

As cricket returns to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Kohli reacted with his excitement to play on the international front.

"It is a good time for us to be linked to the Olympics. It will be a wonderful achievement for the team if they manage to win a medal," he added further.

Enhancing women's cricket

Kohli also emphasized the importance of cricket among women and the fact that the Women's Premier League (WPL) is changing the face of sports in India.

"The WPL will only increase, and if you want to proceed as a sporting nation, you can't have merely men's sport," he claimed.

India's champions trophy success

India's Champions Trophy success was recalled by Kohli with the team's adaptability as being one of the prime reasons why the team achieved the trophy.

"We adapted better to the conditions than the other teams, and that's why we won the Champions Trophy," he added.

With IPL 2025 season on the horizon, Kohli will feature in his 18th season of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. As RCB wait for their first-ever IPL title, Kohli is a big contributor to the team's quest.
