Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, unveiled a revamped national selection committee which includes seven members. Surprisingly, PCB hasn't appointed anyone for the chairman post. Addressing a press conference, Naqvi stated that all seven members will have equal authority. 

"The decisions moving forward will be based on the majority agreement among the committee members," stated Naqvi. The reorganized panel, which was meticulously formed, took into account various factors.

Who are in new selection committee?

The newly formed selection committee includes former cricketing stalwarts Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq. Naqvi further disclosed that the remaining slots would be occupied by the head coach, team captain, and an analyst. Moreover, Naqvi clarified that while there would be two to three coordinators, they would not wield voting powers.

"This committee holds the reins of decision-making from here on out. They are pivotal members of our management structure who, I'm confident, will deliver commendable outcomes," expressed the PCB chairman, underscoring the importance of the committee's role.

Discussing the coaching staff, Naqvi revealed ongoing efforts in finalizing a comprehensive panel, which includes both national and international coaches. He assured that the selection process was in its concluding stages and would be completed within four to five days.

Naqvi provides update on Haris Rauf

Naqvi also addressed recent developments concerning Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf. In a press release, he disclosed the restoration of Rauf's central contract acknowledged a misunderstanding, and expressed regret over his actions. Naqvi mentioned that Rauf's appeal, forwarded to the tribunal, was under consideration.

Ensuring Rauf's well-being, Naqvi assured that the PCB would provide the necessary support for his injury recovery through insurance coverage, emphasizing Rauf's significance as a key player for the team.

PCB's NOC policy

He provided updates on the No Objection Certificate (NOC) policy by stressing adherence to a uniform policy as stipulated in the contracts, reiterating that there would be no exceptions for any player.

On the matter of team captaincy, Naqvi deferred to the selection committee, indicating that the decision would rest with them.
