What are MSD's accisions on IPS officier?

Initially, the skipper of Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni filed a ₹100 crore defamation suit against Sampath Kumar. He was serving with the CID department of Tamil Nadu Police, and a television channel in 2014 for match-fixing allegations against him in the IPL betting case.

The cricketer later filed a contempt petition against the IPS officer who turned 60 this May and retired. The petition cited denigrating remarks made by the IPS officer against the Supreme Court and the Madras High Court.

How did it start?

Subsequent to accusations Sampath accepted bribes from certain bookies to clear their names, he was removed from the case and placed under suspension. The policeman, who was exonerated of the charge in 2019 due to insufficient evidence, has insisted that he was set up to prevent him from discovering the full scope of the scheme.
