Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Kerala Blasters FC has made a significant addition to its roster by signing Indian national team forward Ishan Pandita on a two-year contract until the end of the 2024-25 season.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, Kerala Blasters announced the signing of the 25-year-old midfielder. “Psst…What time is it? I’s Time For Ishan,” the club wrote.

“Delighted to become a part of one of the most passionate and beloved clubs in the whole of India. I am very pleased that the think tank at KBFC showed trust in my skill and ability as a player. It was a very long transfer window for me personally but I’m sure I made the right decision. I can’t wait to don the iconic yellow jersey and give it my all to the fans and the club,” Pandita said in a league press release.

“Ishan is someone who we believe has the ability to impact the game with his presence and physicality and change the course of any contest. The timing now is correct as we aim to compete for titles and for this, we need players with mentality and hunger like Ishan’s. He has to continue working hard and success will follow. I wish him the best of luck on the signing,” Karolis Skinkys, Kerala Blasters Sporting Director, said in a release by the ISL.

Kerala Blasters also released a video on Twitter that showed Pandita being welcomed by his new teammates. “New beginnings, one goalThe boys welcomed our newest recruit with open arms!” the post read.

KBFC new signing Ishan Pandita serial winner with foreign experience

New Kerala Blasters boy Ishan Pandita’s football journey started in the BDCA Division A state league in Bengaluru. His talent quickly caught the eye of scouts, leading him to Spain in 2014 at the age of 16. During his time in Spain, he joined the youth team of Alcobendas and subsequently contributed to the youth teams of La Liga clubs UD Almeria and CD Leganes.

After returning to India in 2020, Pandita donned the FC Goa jersey and made his mark with a tally of 4 goals in 11 ISL appearances. Before joining Kerala Blasters, Pandita spent two successful years with Jamshedpur FC, where he played a pivotal role in clinching the ISL Shield in 2022.

In his career so far, he has showcased his prowess across more than 50 appearances and notched 10 goals across diverse competitions, including the ISL, Super Cup, and AFC Champions League.

Ishan Pandita’s stellar performances caught the attention of the national team selectors, earning him a spot in the Indian National Team in 2021. Since then, he has been a regular for the Blue Tigers.

Before signing for Kerala Blasters, Pandita was heavily linked with fellow ISL club East Bengal.
