ISL: Jamshedpur FC signs French midfielder Jeremy Manzorro on one-year deal

Indian Super League (ISL) team Jamshedpur FC has added one more overseas player to their ranks by signing French midfielder Jeremy Manzorro on a one-year contract.

The French attacking midfielder has played for a host of clubs in countries like Bulgaria, Iran, Lithuania, and Poland. However, he has enjoyed his most successful years in Kazakhstan, where he has won the Kazakh Premier League twice — in 2021 with FC Tobol, and again in 2022 with FC Astana. He further won the Kazakhstan Cup in 2021.

Manzorro has also tasted silverware in Lithuania, winning the Lithuanian A Lyga trophy in 2017 with FK Suduva Marijampole, and the Lithuanian Cup in 2018. He is also no stranger to continental football, playing 8 matches in the UEFA Europa League and 4 times in the UEFA Conference League.

Manzorro, after signing for Jamshedpur FC, spoke about his motivation to sign for the Indian outfit.

Manzorro, who has been titled ‘Man of Steel’ by the Jamshedpur fans, can play in a variety of positions up front, but his strength is playing out wide as an attacking midfielder or winger.

Scott Cooper, the head coach of Jamshedpur FC, also lauded the signing of Monzorro, who is signing from the Polish club Sandecja Nowy Sacz.

“Jeremy is a dynamic midfielder that is versatile and electric. He is going to be hard for teams to handle and has previously been the player of the year in Kazakhstan. He comes with good experience and is very technical, making him more than a handful for teams in the league to deal with,” Cooper said in the statement.
