IPL Auction 2024: Dubai is hosting the bidding war on December 19 for the Indian Premier League 2024 auction, marking the first time the event would take place outside of India. Rovman Powell, a power hitter from the West Indies, went under the hammer first in the auction.Powell was in demand as soon as his name entered the auction arena. Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders watched the former Delhi Capitals bat with keen interest. However, Royals picked up Powell for INR 7.40 crore.Rajasthan is in the auction with the smallest purse of INR 14.5 crore, but they were in clear mind for Powell, who can bat in the middle order and stands as a good finisher as well.
