Thunderstorms, gusty winds, lightning, and moderate rain are expected on Friday and Saturday, according to the forecast. These conditions may not just affect the match but also the grand opening ceremony slated for 6 PM, just before the game's 7:30 PM start.

Precautions at Eden gardens

Management of Eden Gardens has been careful enough by covering the whole ground to prevent water damage. Regardless of the uncertain weather, IPL officials are hopeful that the game will be played according to schedule. The league also accommodates delay with play allowed until 12:06 AM if necessary. Also in extreme delays, a five-over-per-side match is possible as long as play begins before 10:56 PM.
